Did I Forget To Pray?

Did I Forget To Pray? I am a Christian. I pray everyday.
In the morning when I wake. I pray.
Sometimes I sit on the side of the bed and start my prayer. I fall asleep, I wake up, I fall asleep and finally I wake up again. I know I've said something, because I heard myself. I just don't know what. So I pray again until I know it made sense. At least to me.
When I've eaten cold soupy oatmeal for breakfast for the 5th time during the week and I've cheated on my low sodium diet and forgotten on purpose to take my high blood pressure pills and water pills because who wants to go to the bathroom every ten minutes even though I have congestive heart failure and it could mean the difference between life and death. I pray.
When I don't like my co-workers attitude, when I don't like mine. I pray. Though sometimes I really don't mean it.
Sometimes I don't like it because they talk too much, laugh too much, talk too loud, laugh too loud, talk too little, spy too much, smell good too much, smell bad too much. I just don't like them. I pray.
When I get into my car to come home. I pray. For me.
When I see cars stalled on the side of the road and because I know how it feels. I sometimes arrogantly think I'm scoring brownie points with God. Though, if there is a song playing on the radio that I like, I don't want to miss it so I try to remember how many people I still have to pray for when it's over. I pray.
And when I'm afraid because I watched something I shouldn't have watched or when I heard something I wish I hadn't. I pray.
I really hope He understands that I'm just stupid this way. That I'm trying my best to get it right.
So I pray.

My piano teacher always told me that practice makes perfect. I wonder if she prayed after my lessons now. I don't think God measures the substance as much as he does the intent.
